  • My MOT is due, what should I do? First thing is do is try not worry, here is the detail.     

There is updated and different guidance depending on when your MOT is due to expire.

In some circumstances: Cars, motorcycles and vans will all be subject to a temporary six-month MoT exemption in an effort to maintain essential travel during the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak.

The exemption will come into play from March 30th  but the DfT said that motorists still have a duty to keep their vehicles “in a roadworthy condition”.

Drivers can still be prosecuted if driving unsafe vehicles, so remember to examine the items you can realistically easily check. For example Tyres, Lights, Horn, Wipers.

If you believe your car might not be roadworthy. Please do not drive it on a public road.

My car is on Motability and my lease is coming to an end, What do I do?

It's all taken care of. This is from the Motability website. 

If you are coming to the end of your lease, Motability will automatically extend this for six months. There will be no need to contact us or them and you will continue to be insured.

If you plan to leave the Scheme at the end of your lease, contact Motability so they can discuss arrangements.

At this time we are unable to process any further orders or new applications to the Scheme.

All Motability deliveries at Batchelors will commence again from 1st July 2020

What about repairs and servicing?

Non-essential service, maintenance and repairs are likely to be cancelled as we are closed, but the RAC will continue to offer an emergency breakdown service. Royal and SunAlliance Motability (RASM) will be able to handle claims, but please be prepared for longer calling times than usual.

I'm worried that I will not be able to pay my car finance ?

Don't ignore your situation. All of our lenders will try to assist by allowing a payment holiday.
