Renault is celebrating a trio of award wins at the News UK Motor Awards 2024, after the Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric was crowned Electric Car of the Year, the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric took the Family Car of the Year title, and Renault was recognised as Manufacturer of the Year.

The Motor Awards 2024 were judged by a prestigious panel of motoring journalists from across News UK’s titles including The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun, with each winner selected after carefully assessing all the latest cars in each category.

Will Dron, Editor of Driving.co.uk, said: “Renault is the standout carmaker this year, with a product offensive to make rivals weep. The new Renault 5 is a brilliant modern interpretation of a classic that brings fun and colour to the small electric car segment, while the Scenic is a characterful and practical family EV. Both arguably offer the best value in their respective classes. With the new Renault 4 on its way, and updates of the existing line-up, Renault is most definitely on a roll.”

Rob Gill, The Sun’s Motors Editor, added: “The old Renault magic is back with a solid line-up of motors – petrol and electric – and we couldn’t be happier. Scenic is the stand-out winner of our Family Car of the Year prize and I’m utterly convinced Renault 5, Electric Car of the Year, is going to win bucketloads of awards from all the glossy mags over the next year or so. It’s a fabulous little car at a really punchy price, and if you’re not ready for electric just yet, try a Clio or a Captur. Money well spent.”

Adam Wood, Managing Director Renault UK, said: ““The positive reaction to our new, award-winning electric models is extremely exciting, and is further proof of Renault’s credibility as a leader in electric technology. These latest awards underline how the return of the iconic Renault 5 as a pure electric supermini is set to capture Britain’s hearts and minds, while the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric is already writing the next chapter in family mobility.”

The Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric references the style of the original model yet is also the epitome of modernity, with agile handling and innovative technology that delivers a driving range of up to 248 miles on a single charge (pending WLTP certification). Expected to arrive in the UK in Q1 2025, customers eager to be among the first behind the wheel can purchase an R-Pass for £150, which allows them to place their order two weeks before the general public.
