The Renault 5 E-Tech electric has been named ‘Best Electric Small Car’ at the 2025 What Car? Electric Car Awards, recognising its unbeatable combination of engaging driving dynamics, comfort, advanced technology and value.
This latest award builds on the success of the Renault 5 E-Tech electric at the What Car? Car of the Year Awards in January, where it won the ultimate accolade of ‘Car of the Year 2025’.
On the renowned magazine and website announcing the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric as the ‘Best Electric Small Car’, Steve Huntingford, Editor of What Car?, said: “While the Renault 5 undoubtedly appeals on an emotional ‘I just want one’ level, it’s also a car you can buy with your head. Renault 5 E-Tech electric brings an iconic nameplate into the electric era with contemporary packaging and clever technology, including OpenR Link infotainment with Google built-in, a refined chassis tuned for secure, confidence-inspiring handling, and practical charging features for effortless everyday use. Depending on trim level, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric offers up to 250 miles WLTP driving range and can charge from 15–80% in around 30 minutes.
As with every electric car in Renault’s line-up, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric qualifies for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant, reducing the on-the-road price by £1,500. As a result, prices for the Renault 5 E-Tech electric are now even more tempting, starting from only £21,495 OTR.
