OMODA&JAECOO UK has been recognised with Best Newcomer at the 2025 Scottish Car of the Year Awards, underscoring the brand house’s exceptional first moments in the UK and its accelerating influence in key market segments.
Judged by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), the awards celebrate outstanding achievements in automotive design, engineering and value. The Best Newcomer title reflects the positive reception OMODA&JAECOO has earned among UK drivers, media and retailers, driven by a rapidly expanding product portfolio and strong consumer demand.
Held at the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club in Edinburgh, the 28th edition of Scotland’s premier automotive awards highlighted the brands’ clear proposition: modern design, extensive standard equipment and excellent value.
Gary Lan, CEO of OMODA&JAECOO UK, said: “Being named Best Newcomer at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards is a defining moment for our UK team and dealer partners. It reflects the hard work of our team, the enthusiasm of our retailer partners and the strong response from customers across the country. OMODA&JAECOO has entered the market with a clear and compelling offer, and as we approach 2026, we remain focused on expanding our line-up, strengthening our network and delivering even greater choice and value to UK drivers.”
The recognition follows a series of major achievements for the brands in 2025. JAECOO UK, launched in January 2025, has quickly established itself with the JAECOO 7, which has sold more than 21,000 units; alongside the JAECOO 5 and E5. Meanwhile, OMODA UK, which entered the market in August 2024, has made an equally strong entrance with the OMODA 5 and E5 alongside the flagship OMODA 9.
