OMODA UK has added another major industry accolade to its growing trophy cabinet, with the OMODA 9 SHS being named Plug-in Car of the Year by Company Car & Van, the UK’s leading business and fleet motoring publication. The award underlines the model’s position as one of the most capable and compelling luxury plug-in hybrid SUVs available today, delivering an impressive electric range of 93 miles, alongside a refined hybrid driving experience.
Company Car & Van’s awards are highly respected across the fleet sector, with winners selected through expert insight and a rigorous judging process focused on efficiency, effectiveness and overall suitability for modern company car drivers. The OMODA 9 SHS stood out for its strong combination of safety, technology, efficiency and practicality, qualities that are increasingly essential as businesses electrify their fleets without compromising performance or usability.
The OMODA 9 SHS was recognised for its Chery International-developed Super Hybrid System powertrain, offering a 93-mile electric driving range, rapid-charging capability and smooth hybrid performance. This electric capability is matched with a premium, spacious interior designed for long-distance comfort and everyday practicality, making it equally suited to daily commutes and extended business journeys. The flagship OMODA SUV also holds a five-star Euro NCAP rating, reinforcing its focus on safety and driver confidence for company car users.
This award follows a year of growing momentum for OMODA and sister brand JAECOO in the UK. In 2025, the OMODA 9 SHS proved its long-distance credentials in a real-world test, completing a nine-country, 730-mile European grand tour on a single charge and one tank of fuel. Powered by a 1.5-litre engine, dual electric motors and a 34.46kWh MP3 battery, the SUV delivered its full 449PS and 700Nm output with ease, exceeding its official WLTP range estimate of 700 miles, and showcasing its 93-mile pure EV range in real conditions.

The OMODA 9 SHS is available now through OMODA’s UK dealer network, priced from £44,990 OTR*, and comes with a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty, 8-year battery cover and RAC Home Start as standard.
The OMODA 9 SHS also benefits from a low Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax rate of 6% for the 2025/2026 financial year, thanks to its low CO₂ emissions of 38g/km.
