New look and new power: JAECOO adds Black Luxury edition and full hybrid to UK range

 Following a record-breaking first year in the UK, JAECOO has announced two new variations to its best-selling JAECOO 7 line-up: a distinctive new black edition and the brand’s first full-hybrid model, the JAECOO 7 SHS-H.

The new JAECOO 7 SHS-P Black Luxury introduces a bold visual upgrade to the plug-in hybrid SHS model, priced from £36,500 OTR* and available exclusively in top-of-the-range Luxury specification. It features a blacked-out design treatment, including a black front grille, black logo suite across the vehicle, and a black “Luxury” C-pillar badge. Further full black detailing includes black mirrors, roof, wheels and roof rails, as well as interior elements such as a black headliner and sun visors. The result is a sleek, adventure-ready version of JAECOO’s popular SUV, delivering presence and polish without compromising the capability or value that have defined the SHS to date.

Alongside the Black Luxury edition, the new JAECOO 7 SHS-H introduces a full-hybrid variant for the first time, offering customers a different route into electrified driving without the need to plug in. It is available in two trim levels – Pure and Deluxe – with prices starting from £29,195 OTR* and £32,795 OTR* respectively. Pure grade comes with tweed cloth upholstery, a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, refrigerated centre-console, dual-zone climate control, and a 6-speaker sound system, plus front and rear parking sensors as standard. The Deluxe model builds on this, adding eco-leather upholstery, an 8-speaker sound system and a 14.8-inch infotainment screen, among other upgrades. Following the introduction of sister brand OMODA UK’s first full-hybrid model earlier this year [February 2026], the OMODA 5 SHS-H, the dual brand house continues to offer a wide variety of powertrain choices across its model range, allowing customers to adopt electrification at their own pace.

The JAECOO 7 SHS-H is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a self-charging hybrid system, delivering 224 PS, a 0-62 mph time of just 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 112 mph. As a powertrain dedicated to hybrid use, the 1.5-litre unit uses a combination of six core technologies, including the Deep Miller Cycle, i-HEC intelligent combustion, intelligent turbocharging, intelligent internal lubrication, and intelligent thermal management. Combined, this allows a world-leading efficiency of 44.5%, admirably low noise levels of just 10 dB at normal running speeds, and great fuel economy. Sharing the same exterior dimensions and confident SUV proportions as the existing SHS model, the new SHS-H offers buyers a flexible alternative to hybrid ownership, all with an extra-urban fuel economy of 53 mpg (WLTP).

These new variants arrive as JAECOO UK builds on the momentum of a landmark debut year. With more than 35,000** new vehicle registrations since launch and a rapidly expanding dealer network, JAECOO UK continues to outperform expectations. Electrification has played a central role in that growth, with SHS-P variants accounting for over 70% of all JAECOO 7 sales in 2025. The arrival of the SHS-H expands that offering further, while the Black Luxury edition brings added visual presence and exclusivity to the existing range.

All JAECOO 7 variants – including these two new additions – are supported by the brand’s comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty, with one year of complimentary RAC breakdown cover included as standard. The all-new JAECOO 7 SHS-P Black Luxury and the JAECOO 7 SHS-H will be available to order from the brand’s nationwide dealership network from May 2026.
