Building on one of the strongest debut years seen in the UK automotive market in over a decade, JAECOO UK has confirmed the arrival of its new flagship model, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P. Introducing a larger, more refined and more powerful proposition for UK customers, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P brings three-row luxury to the JAECOO line-up for the first time.
Available in both 6- and 7-seat configurations, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P brings two distinct personalities within a single flagship model, serving anyone from larger families to professional drivers and anyone in between. Prices for the 7-seat JAECOO 8 SHS-P Luxury will start from £45,500 OTR*, and from £47,500 OTR* for the 6-seat JAECOO 8 SHS-P Executive.
The number 8 is closely associated with prosperity, progress and good fortune in Chinese culture, too, reflecting success and positive momentum. That symbolism aligns naturally with the JAECOO 8 SHS-P’s role at the top of the range – a flagship designed to combine commanding road presence, executive-grade comfort and genuine all-road capability, bringing JAECOO’s distinctive design language and adventure-ready approach to the upper end of the SUV segment.
That positioning is reflected in two clearly defined model variants. The 7-seat JAECOO 8 SHS-P Luxury is designed for larger families who require flexibility and space without compromise. With generous room for passengers, prams, and luggage, it transforms school runs, family trips, and holidays into more comfortable and practical experiences. Multiple ISOFIX mounting points and a strong emphasis on safety and reassurance further reinforce its family-focused credentials.
The 6-seat JAECOO 8 SHS-P Executive, meanwhile, appeals to those who prioritise passenger comfort and a more premium rear-seat experience. Featuring four heated, ventilated and massaging captain’s chairs (with extendable thigh support for the driver for increased personal space), it appeals to both professional use – including executive travel and chauffeured transport – and those who simply prioritise a more refined journey. Whether that’s the daily commute or long-distance travel, where every mile matters. With the addition of two foldable seats in the boot compartment, occasional extra passengers can be catered for with ease when needed.
Whether navigating airport drop-offs, covering long motorway distances or venturing off the beaten path, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P is engineered to deliver composure, comfort and performance without compromise. With a combined driving range of over 700 miles – enough to travel from London to Milan on a single tank and full charge – the flagship SUV is perfectly tailored for long-distance journeys with minimal stops. An electric-only range of up to 83 miles supports daily zero-emission driving, while DC fast-charging capability of up to 40 kW allows a 30%-80% charge in approximately 20 minutes. Meanwhile, 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality extends the model’s outdoor and lifestyle credentials.
Powered by Chery International’s advanced Super Hybrid System (SHS), the flagship pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 3-speed DHT automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD), producing up to 428 PS and 580 Nm. Acceleration from 0-62 mph takes just 5.8 seconds, while CO2 emissions are rated at just 14 g/km, underlining the efficiency of the rapid charging-equipped, plug-in Super Hybrid System.
With its distinctive LED lighting and signature waterfall grille, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P retains the brand’s bold visual identity, while features such as hidden door handles, flowing character lines and a panoramic sunroof complete the confident exterior stance. From its assured proportions and floating roof design to a cabin defined by modernist luxury and digital innovation, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P is engineered to bridge that rugged capability while continuing to deliver refined everyday usability.
Inside, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P moves firmly into executive-grade territory with an all-new interior layout, functionality and one grade of specification. Massage front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, alongside cooled wireless charging pads, dual 12.3-inch displays and a SONY 14-speaker sound system – plus 2 headrest speakers – come as a complete package: delivering a connected and immersive in-car experience without compromise. The JAECOO 8 SHS-P Executive adds further refinement, introducing Nappa leather seating designed to enhance comfort and create a first-class environment for all passengers.
Prioritising passenger experience across the range, front seat comfort is a particular focus, with power-adjustable front seats offering heating, ventilation and 5 massage modes, alongside those exclusive headrest speakers for a private audio experience. The JAECOO 8 SHS-P Executive offers further additions, introducing a zero-gravity front passenger seat with a 123-degree adjustable angle, extended legroom and a dedicated “Boss Button” for passenger side control, elevating comfort on every journey.
Passenger safety and reassurance are equally as important as their comfort and are central to the JAECOO 8 SHS-P proposition. The flagship SUV is equipped with 10 airbags and up to 19 advanced driver assistance systems, including Front Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), supporting confident driving in a wide range of conditions. A body structure incorporating up to 85% high-strength steel provides additional peace of mind.
True to JAECOO’s adventure-led ethos, the model also combines luxury with genuine capability. For the first time on a JAECOO model, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P introduces lockable differentials working alongside the brand’s adaptive all-terrain response system, supporting confident progress across a wide range of surfaces and driving conditions.
Luggage capacity extends up to 2,021 litres with the rear seats folded, while a maximum wading depth of up to 600 mm and continuous damping control (CDC) adaptive suspension ensure comfort and stability across varying road and surface conditions – combining comfort across all road conditions with the space necessary for any adventure. A range of exterior colours will include Amazonite Blue, Basalt Black, Granite White, Iced Slate Grey and Pearl Silver, with two-tone options available for the Luxury model and offered as standard on the Executive.

As JAECOO builds on a landmark first year in the UK, the introduction of the JAECOO 8 SHS-P signals a confident step forward for the brand, delivering a flagship SUV that offers performance, efficiency, modern luxury and everyday usability in one single package. Joining the award-winning JAECOO 7, the compact JAECOO 5 and the all-electric JAECOO E5 in the line-up, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P will be offered in two core specifications; the 7-seat JAECOO 8 SHS-P Luxury will start from £45,500 OTR*, while the 6-seat JAECOO 8 SHS-P Executive will start from £47,500 OTR* with the only optional extra being paint. Order books are open now, with deliveries expected from May 2026. All models will come as standard with the brand’s comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty, with an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty on the battery.
