JAECOO UK’s momentum in its debut year shows no sign of slowing, as the JAECOO 7 secures the title of Family Car of the Year 2025 at this year’s Scottish Car of the Year Awards – Scotland’s foremost automotive honours.
Judged by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), a respected collective of professional motoring journalists who regularly test and review new cars for national and regional publications, the 28th edition of the awards recognised standout models across a range of competitive categories. In awarding the JAECOO 7, judges highlighted its balance of comfort, space and value, noting that it brings all the right attributes to shine in a busy family SUV segment.

Held once again at the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club in Edinburgh, the Scottish Car of the Year awards have been a key moment in the UK’s annual motoring calendar since their founding in 1997. Closing a landmark first year for JAECOO in the UK, this latest accolade reinforces the brand’s values and reflects an increasing demand for cars that combine strong design, generous technology, and exceptional value.

From becoming Leasing.com’s Overall Car of the Year to being named Carwow’s Brand of the Year 2026, JAECOO UK’s debut year has been defined by strong, consistent momentum. With more than 22,000 JAECOO 7s now on UK roads – and having been the UK’s best-selling Chinese car in October, according to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)** – prices start from just £30,115 OTR*, with the JAECOO 7 SHS priced from £35,165 OTR*.
Looking ahead, the next addition to the JAECOO family, the JAECOO 5, will introduce the brand’s first pure electric model, with the compact SUV offered in both EV and ICE versions. The JAECOO 5 is available to order now from £24,505 OTR*, while the JAECOO E5 starts at £37,505 OTR*, with all models available through the growing OMODA&JAECOO UK retailer network and supported by the company’s comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty.
