The all-new, all-wheel-drive JAECOO 8 SHS-P, equipped with JAECOO’s renowned Super Hybrid System (SHS), completed a 700+ mile journey during last month’s OMODA&JAECOO-sponsored European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) Finals, showcasing the flagship SUV’s long-range capability.
Celebrating both its role as Official Automotive Partner of EPCR and the long-distance capability of its advanced SHS technology, two JAECOO 8 SHS-Ps completed a route of more than 700 miles from Paris, France to Bilbao, Spain on a single tank of fuel and a full charge.
Demonstrating the grand touring credentials of JAECOO’s new flagship SUV, the journey showcased the JAECOO 8 SHS-P’s ability to combine performance, comfort and efficiency, including up to 83 miles of electric-only driving and a combined range of more than 700 miles (WLTP).
Recently launched in the UK, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a three-mode Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and a 34.46 kWh battery. Together, the system delivers 428 PS and 580 Nm of torque, enabling 0 to 62 mph in 5.8 seconds while maintaining impressive long-distance capability.
Inspired by the heritage and geography of European rugby, the route departed Paris before travelling through Chartres, Le Mans, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, Biarritz and San Sebastián/Donostia, arriving in Bilbao in time for one of the biggest weekends in the sporting calendar.
Joining the Road to Bilbao campaign were For the Love of Rugby podcast hosts Ben Youngs and Dan Cole, who travelled in their fan-favourite, pink liveried JAECOO 7 SHS-P. Fans followed the journey through daily social content across JAECOO channels, alongside behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, anecdotes and expert analysis ahead of both the EPCR Challenge Cup and Investec Champions Cup Finals. A dedicated podcast episode was also recorded during the campaign.
At the Champions Rugby Village in Bilbao, JAECOO showcased both JAECOO 8 SHS-P vehicles in bespoke Road to Bilbao liveries. Visitors were also invited to take part in the JAECOO SHS Final Metre Challenge – an interactive activation celebrating endurance, strength and efficient performance, with branded prizes available throughout the event.

Organised by EPCR, the Investec Champions Cup Final concluded with Union Bordeaux Bègles defeating Leinster Rugby at San Mamés Stadium. This marks the second year OMODA&JAECOO UK has partnered with the EPCR.
The JAECOO 8 SHS-P is now available through OMODA&JAECOO’s 136-strong, UK-wide dealer network. The 5+2 JAECOO 8 SHS-P Luxury is priced from £45,500 OTR*, while the 4+2 JAECOO 8 SHS-P Executive starts from £47,500 OTR*. All models include a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty, an 8-year battery warranty for SHS-P variants, and RAC Home Start and European cover as standard for the duration of the warranty**.
