Dacia has done the double, scooping two major titles at the cinch Car of the Year Awards 2025. The Dacia Bigster claimed the crown as the ‘Best Large SUV’, while the ever-popular Duster was named ‘Best Budget Car’, proving that Dacia’s refreshingly straightforward approach continues to hit the mark.
DACIA BIGSTER: BEST LARGE SUV
The Bigster impressed the judges with its mix of toughness, space and smart technology, all wrapped up in Dacia’s trademark no-nonsense value. It’s the SUV built for those who like to do more, whether that’s tackling the school run, loading up for a weekend escape, or heading off-road into the unknown.
As Ben Welham, Motoring Expert at cinch explains: “The Bigster saw off strong competition to win our Best Large SUV category – and deservedly so. Its practical set-up, roomy interior and attractive price make it a great choice for both off-road adventurers and busy families.”
Starting from £25,215 on-the-road, the Bigster is available with a choice of mild-hybrid, hybrid and 4x4 powertrains across three trim levels – Expression, Journey and Extreme. True to Dacia form, its rugged sense of adventure comes as standard.
DACIA DUSTER: BEST BUDGET CAR
A Dacia favourite and a family staple, the Duster remains the go-to SUV for value-conscious drivers. Starting from £21,820 on-the-road, it offers a choice of three trims and three powertrain options, including an advanced hybrid and a genuine 4x4 version for those who like to venture further. With bold looks, a comfortable interior, and the latest tech and safety systems, it’s an SUV that punches well above its price tag.
The judges agreed. Outlining the qualities that made the Duster such a strong contender, Ben continued: “In these tough economic times, drivers are increasingly focused on getting value for money – and no car offered more in 2025 than the Duster. It’s comfortable on the road and off, packed full of the latest tech, and delivers a great overall package for the price.”
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, said: “These awards show that Dacia continues to do exactly what drivers want us to do – build smart, capable cars that fit real lives. Bigster and Duster prove you don’t need to spend more to get space, technology, and toughness that genuinely work day to day.”
