Batchelors Motor Group Expands with Fifth Dealership in Malton
Batchelors Motor Group has announced the acquisition of its fifth dealership site, marking another major milestone in the company’s ongoing expansion.
The newly acquired premises—formerly operated as a Vertu Mini showroom in Malton—will be transformed into Batchelors’ third dedicated showroom for the fast-growing Omoda and Jaecoo brands. The facility is currently undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment and is scheduled to open for vehicle sales on 18 August.
The opening comes at a pivotal moment, coinciding with a significant surge in market share for both Omoda and Jaecoo in the UK. The timing also aligns with the introduction of several new models across both brands, reinforcing Batchelors’ commitment to offering innovative and future-forward mobility solutions.

The new dealership will serve as a strategic hub for North Yorkshire, covering areas including York, Ripon, Harrogate, Scarborough, Malton, Pickering, Boroughbridge, and Thirsk.
This development comes as Omoda and Jaecoo record their strongest month yet in the UK. According to the latest Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) data, the two brands achieved a combined 2.71% market share in July, up from 2.1% in June. A total of 1,874 Omoda and 1,915 Jaecoo vehicles were registered in July alone.
Recent achievements include over 10,000 UK orders for the newly launched Jaecoo 7 since January, alongside continued strong demand for the Omoda 5, Omoda E5, and the premium Omoda 9 SHS. Looking ahead, the upcoming launches of the Jaecoo 5 (ICE and EV), Omoda 7, and Jaecoo 8 are expected to drive further growth.
