The Renault 4 E-Tech electric has been named ‘Best Value EV’ at the Electrifying.com Awards 2026, the win taking Renault to back-to-back titles after the Renault 5 E-Tech electric won the award last year.
Against every other new EV on sale, the Renault 4 E-Tech electric took home the highly coveted award after being praised for its combination of affordability, usability and outright appeal.
Vicky Parrot, Editor of Electrifying.com, said: “The Renault 4 is a rare thing: an affordable, practical family car that appeals to both the heart and the head. It’s packed with character, genuinely fun to drive, and properly useful day to day. Now the battery’s made in France, it qualifies for the full electric car grant – meaning it’s not just better value, but a more sustainable choice too. In a market where good-value EVs can still feel like a compromise, it doesn’t get much better than this.”
The Electrifying.com Awards are judged by a panel of independent EV experts and spotlight electric vehicles that deliver true innovation, value, and real-world usability. Renault’s continued recognition in the awards reflects its leadership in the growing mainstream EV sector.
Newly announced versions of the Renault 4 E-Tech electric with the ‘+’ designation - evolution+ (from £23,455), techno+ (£25,945), and iconic+ (£27,945) – qualify for the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant. All feature batteries sourced from Renault’s new Douai gigafactory in northern France, a cornerstone of the ElectriCity manufacturing hub run in partnership with AESC.
With a 2.62-metre wheelbase, Renault 4 E-Tech electric delivers impressive rear passenger comfort, while the 420-litre boot expands to 1,405 litres with the rear seats folded. Inside, Renault’s intuitive OpenR Link multimedia system is standard across the range, controlled via a 10.1-inch central touchscreen. Available exclusively with a 52kWh battery, it has a range of up to 247 miles (WLTP). Fast charging is built-in too, with the 100kW DC charger enabling a 15–80% charge in just 30 minutes.
