Sue may run HR for the entire Batchelors Group, but don’t let the polished professionalism fool you—this London-born legend has a secret soft spot for pie, mash and liquor (it’s a London thing!), a passion for pruning, and a bookshelf that’s dangerously close to becoming its own postcode.
Her pride and joy? A Suzuki Swift Sport—and no, it’s not sad, it’s spirited. Zippy, reliable, and full of character, much like Sue herself. When she’s not keeping the team in check or championing people-first policies, you’ll find her knee-deep in flowerbeds, nose-deep in a novel, or dreaming about her next deep-dive into ancient Egypt or the tragic tale of the Titanic—two of her long-standing historical fascinations.
That said, Sue's heart also belongs to the land of pasta, passion, and perfect coffee—Italy. From the language and the food to the fashion and the cars, her love of all things Italian is matched only by her ability to spot a HR policy breach from 50 paces.
Dreaming big? She’s got her eye on a globe-spanning adventure: Japan and New Zealand are top of the list. Think cherry blossoms, mountain hikes, and maybe a sneaky visit to a Japanese garden centre (pure bliss).
As a kid, Sue wanted to be a PE teacher—whistle, stopwatch, and all. But HR turned out to be the perfect fit: still keeping people motivated, just with slightly fewer gym mats and a lot more paperwork. And let’s face it, who better to stop you from doing something daft at work than someone who once wanted to referee it?
Oh, and just because she’s based in Ripon doesn’t mean you’re safe—Sue pops up at all our sites, so no mischief while she’s on the move!
