Meet Dave, the man at the helm of Batchelors Malton. With three decades of company cars under his belt (though he’ll admit his one true owned love was a trusty Vauxhall Nova—yes, he’s showing his age), he’s proof that experience, a cool head, and a love of chunky chips make the perfect recipe for leadership.
When it comes to comfort food, Dave keeps it classic: steak, chunky chips, and lashings of peppercorn sauce. Add a pint and you’ve basically nailed his happy place.
Hobbies? Well, forget golf or fishing—Dave’s speciality is the deceptively simple game of “1st to 20.” Sounds easy? He’s never lost. Challenge him at your own risk (and prepare to have your pride dented).
His favourite holiday? Orlando, Florida—because who doesn’t love Mickey and pals? Though whether he’s braving roller coasters or just hunting out the best steak in town is anyone’s guess.
As a lad, Dave wanted to be a footballer. Sadly, the dream didn’t quite make it off the training pitch—but managing a busy branch and keeping the team in winning form isn’t a bad substitute.
Musical taste? He’s partial to a bit of Take That and the smooth sounds of Lighthouse Family—which means the Malton office playlist is guaranteed to have a mix of singalong pop and laid-back soul.
