Meet Charlie—Ripon born and raised, and now wrench-deep in the career he always dreamed of. From the time he could hold a spanner (or at least a gaming controller shaped like one), Charlie knew it had to be cars. Fast forward to today, and he’s living the dream as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician at Batchelors, where he’s swapping out brake pads by day and logging hours on the Xbox by night.
His pride and joy? A Suzuki Swift—the first and only car he’s owned so far, but it’s had more love and polish than some people give their weddings. Dream ride? He’s still shopping around in his imagination (and on Forza).
When he’s not under a bonnet, you’ll likely find him glued to the screen—either gaming or watching driving videos, sharpening both his reaction time and his car knowledge (yes, it's research if it's car-related).
Comfort food? A Chinese takeaway, no contest. Sweet, sour, spicy, or all of the above—Charlie’s on board. Favourite holiday so far? Antalya, Turkey—sun, sea, and enough buffet options to rival his local takeaway menu.
And when it comes to career goals, Charlie’s already ahead of the game. He always knew he wanted to work with cars, and now he’s doing exactly that—getting hands-on, learning the ropes, and making engines purr.
Give him a toolbox, a controller, and a full belly, and Charlie’s pretty much unstoppable. Watch this space—he might be the apprentice now, but he’s racing full-throttle toward a future in the fast lane.
