
Group Automotive Accountant Needed

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Group Accountant to join our team in York. The Group Accountant will oversee the day to day financial operations of our 5 dealerships, including preparing monthly management accounts, maintaining accurate ledgers and ensuring timely posting of all income, costs and journal entries.
Responsibilities include preparation of monthly management accounts, submission of manufacturer composites, managing balance sheet reconciliations, overseeing cash flow, banking and banking payment runs, tracking vehicle and parts inventory, performing floor plan reconciliations and ensuring compliance with internal controls, audit requirements (including liaising with auditors when required) and relevant accounting standards.
The role will support department heads with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and operational financial reporting to drive profitability and cost control. The Group Accountant will also supervise the accounts team, streamline processes and collaborate with the wider management team to provide financial insights.
