Assistant Service Manager - Ripon

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious and driven Assistant Service Manager to join our successful team in Ripon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Service Advisor, Workshop Controller or Assistant Service Manager looking to take the next step in their career with a progressive and growing dealer group.

The Role

Working closely with the Service Manager, you will play a key role in leading the Aftersales operation, ensuring exceptional customer service, strong workshop performance and a motivated, high-performing team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of the Service Department
  • Leading and developing the Service Advisor and front-of-house team
  • Managing the customer journey from booking through to vehicle handover
  • Monitoring and improving key Aftersales KPIs including labour sales, efficiency, productivity, utilisation, retention and CSI
  • Driving workshop loading and maximising revenue opportunities
  • Supporting technician performance and workshop planning
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing team members
  • Managing customer queries and ensuring timely resolution of complaints
  • Ensuring manufacturer and company standards are consistently achieved
  • Producing performance reports and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Supporting the Service Manager in delivering departmental profitability targets

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience within a franchised dealership aftersales environment
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • A customer-first approach
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of aftersales KPIs
  • The ability to motivate, coach and develop a team
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a desire to succeed
  • Must be a qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician
  • Level 4 qualification highly advantageous, including MOT Tester accreditation
