Buy Online Terms and Conditions

Online Valuation

Any valuation generated by the Buy Online Tool (an "Online Valuation") is based on the information you tell us about your car (the "Car") and on the following general assumptions we make about your Car (the "Assumptions"):

  • ALL questions answered accurately
  • it is not an import, i.e. it is a right-hand drive vehicle with UK registration plates;
  • it has not ever been subject to an insurance write off or used for private hire, rental, driving tuition or as a police vehicle;
  • there are no major mechanical faults with the car;
  • it does not have a personalised registration plate, or, if the vehicle has a personalised registration plate it will remain with the Car and no value is assigned to it;
  • Any damage has been described accurately.
  • it has an engine which starts and it can idle on its own, run and move freely through all gears.
  • you have two sets of keys for the car.

You have the option at the Online Valuation page to amend any of the assumptions and provide us with some further detail about your car.

The minimum Online Valuation is £25.00.

An Online Valuation is not an offer by us to purchase the car. It is simply a tool to enable you/us to estimate the value of your car and the price which we may be willing to pay for it in exchange for your vehicle of interest.

We always carry out a physical inspection of the Car before we conclude the sale After you have received an Online Valuation and completed the online ‘’buy online process’’ we will call to arrange handover of your new car.

If, on inspection of the car at the appointment, we consider that the value of the Car is affected by any aspect of its history or condition, including any unusual feature or customisation or anything which affects or limits the assumptions we made about the Car, which was not apparent to us when we gave the Online Valuation, the price that we may be willing to pay for it following an inspection (the "Price") is likely to differ from the Online Valuation. This is rare, as long as all questions have been accurately answered.

We are not obliged to purchase any car brought to a handover. (in particular we reserve the right to turn you away from an appointment if you are selling the Car for commercial purposes, e.g. in the course of a motor trade business) and neither are you obliged to sell any car brought to an appointment.

Price Guarantee

Subject to our inspection of the Car (as explained further above), the Online Valuation is guaranteed until the 26th day of the month we are in. e.g 27th January, the vehicle would need to be reassessed, unless authorised by the Sales Manager.

If there is a significant price change within the 7 day guarantee period, we will use reasonable endeavours to contact you to let you know that the Online Valuation has changed.

Purchase Contract

A binding agreement to purchase the Car will only be made between us once you have signed our standard written order form. Your sales executive will conclude this with you.

Hand-over Requirements

At the time of making the Contract, we will expect you to provide us with:

  • all copies of the Car's keys you have;
  • the Car's registration document (together with appropriate proof of purchase if requested by us);
  • the Car's service history (if any);
  • the Car's MOT certificate (if any);
  • the Car's user manuals (if any); and
  • any accessories there may be such as a locking wheel nut, radio fascia or remote controls.

In the event that you fail to comply with these hand-over requirements, you agree that we have the right to withdraw any offer to buy the Car with immediate effect, to rescind or terminate any Contract with immediate effect, and/or to indicate a revised Price at which we will be prepared to purchase the Car. If we elect to rescind the Contract, we will return the Car to you, and you will refund the Price to us.

Collection/Delivery

Collection from one of our dealerships is totally free of charge. Your Sales Executive will confirm what times are available.

Delivery is charged at a minimum fee of £75 within a 40 mile radius of our Ripon dealership. Delivery is charged at £2 including VAT per mile thereafter.

Vehicle Pricing

Whilst we endeavour for all of our vehicle pricing to be up to date, sometimes technological defects do happen. Whilst payment is completed online, the purchase of the vehicle is not binding until a vehicle order form has been signed and sent by Batchelors Motor Group.

We hold no responsibility for errors with vehicle price and in particularly road tax. These figures will be confirmed by your sales executive.

Online balance payment/finance

We will confirm once funds have been cleared to our bank accounts if you choose to purchase the vehicle outright through WorldPay. With a finance deposit, this balance will not be taken until vehicle handover.

The Codeweavers platform – which provides our finance figures is designed to collect data sufficient for us to propose your details to our panel of lenders. This system conducts a ‘’soft search’’ on your data to ascertain how likely it is that you will be accepted for finance. In completing this form, you are offering us explicit consent to use your data for this purpose.

Cancellation/Returns policy

If you wish to withdraw from the sale before handover, you must contact us to arrange cancellation and return of funds at least 24 hours prior to collection. We must take this opportunity to remind you that completing a transaction online, is legally binding according to distance selling regulations.

Refund Policy

Refunds - Any vehicle purchased through our buy online is eligible for the Batchelors 7 day test/own program.

What are the terms, conditions and limits of the 7-day Test / Own Scheme?

There are a few limits surrounding our 7- day Test / Own and Money Back Guarantee.

The first day of your Test / Own period starts on the day that you receive the vehicle. If you decide to return your vehicle, please let us know prior to 5pm on the 6th calendar day after receiving it.

There is no fee to return or exchange a vehicle for customers that collected and can be return it to us. If had your new car delivered, you will be refunded the price you paid for the vehicle, excluding the collection fee and any contribution we may have made to the delivery charge.

We will make arrangements with you to coordinate the return. You can drive the vehicle up to 300 miles during your 7- day Test / Own period. You can still return the car if it’s driven over 300 miles, however, for every additional mile after the 300 mile limit, we will charge you a fee of £1.00 + VAT per mile.

We cannot accept a return where the car has been modified, damaged, or altered from its original condition when we delivered it to you. We also cannot accept a return if the car has been in an accident or has had a lien or other encumbrance put on the vehicle other than finance arranged by us or is subject to any insurance claim, be it third party or not.

In order to activate a 7-day Test / Own the vehicle must be covered by a 7 Day Free Suzuki Insurance Policy, we will set this up for you. If you are not eligible for our free insurance you are not eligible for our Test / Own scheme. In the unlikely event that you wish to return a vehicle there are three other things you must do;

  • If you purchased the vehicle with the assistance of finance through it is your responsibility to inform them that you wish to terminate your agreement with them.
  • Be responsible for any other third-party costs you incurred.
  • Accept responsibility for any motoring offences with the Test / Own period.

In the very unlikely event you do need to return your car and that we cannot provide you with a suitable replacement we will return the funds to you by exactly the method you paid us, and to the same bank accounts. This is to comply with money laundering regulations. We will make payments the day after we receive the vehicle back into our possession. Payments will be subject to banking usual timescales.

If you part exchanged a vehicle this will not be returned to you. We will reimburse you the value stated on our purchase invoice less an administration fee of £250 + VAT. During your 7 – Day Test / Own period we will inspect your part exchange, if it is found that the car has been seriously miss described and there are undisclosed faults, that you would have been aware of, we may, in the event of refund, to return your part exchange to you. The administration fee of £250 + VAT is chargeable in all instances.

The 7 Day Test / Own Scheme is available to retail customers only. Customers are allowed only one Test / Own period per transaction. We may refuse to offer a Test / Own at our complete discretion but we will make you aware of this prior to you agreeing to purchase a vehicle from us.

Vehicles funded by Personal Contact Hire or Lease are excluded from the Test / Own Scheme.

We reserve the right to cancel, alter or amend the Batchelors Motor Group 7-day Test / Own scheme at any time and without prior notification or warning.

General Terms

Payments

For advance bookings payment in full is required. For cancellations,

Within 72 Hours – 25% of full hire charge including deposit.

Within 48 Hours – 50% of full hire charge including deposit.

Within 24 Hours – 100% of full hire charge including deposit.

Most major credit / debit cards are accepted. We do not accept cash payments at our branches.

Deposit

Batchelors Motor Group charges a £50 deposit on all rentals. This will be returned if they vehicle returns in the original condition at the start of the hire, full tanked with fuel and clean.

Excess waiver

There is an insurance excess of £750 on your vehicle, which can be reduced to zero by paying an excess waiver of £14 per day. You can opt out of this, but if you do and the vehicle is damaged, the full amount of £750 must be paid. To find out more, please see here or contact us

Fuel and Excess Mileage

All our rental vehicles run on either unleaded or diesel fuel. All vehicles will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. It is the customer's responsibility to refill the vehicle at the end of the rental period. Fuel charges or fuel shortage will be charged at current pump prices plus a refilling surcharge. 5. I will replace all fuel used during the loan period, or be invoiced for it at a cost of £1.50+VAT per litre.

I will not drive the vehicle more than 150 miles per day unless by prior agreement. If I do I will accept a charge of £0.15+VAT per mile

 

Vehicle availability

 

To avoid disappointment vehicles should be booked in advance. Models shown and all descriptions are for general guidance only and while every effort is made to comply with requirements we cannot guarantee a specific model.

Batchelors Motor Group reserves the right to refuse rental and to amend terms and conditions without notice.

Offers and promotions

Our car rental offers and promotions are only available for stipulated periods of time and are not available all year round. Each promotion will specify the dates the promotion is valid for and which vehicles are available within the promotion. These promotions are subject to terms and conditions and availability. Batchelors Motor Group reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Car rentals dates which over run or exceed the valid dates of a promotion, will not be eligible to the stated promotional prices or offers.

 

Insurance

 

  1. Driver Acceptance Criteria
  • Age 25 to 75 inclusive with a full valid driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • Age 23 to 24 inclusive with a full valid driving licence held for at least 2 years.
  • An international driving licence (not EU) is only valid for 12 months in the UK. A customer who has been

resident in the UK for more than 12 months must provide a UK/EU driving licence regardless of nationality.

  • No disqualifications or more than 9 penalty points accrued in the last 3 years.
  • Do not rent to a driver that has ever been banned with conviction codes: UT, DD, DR, BA.
  • No more than 2 fault claims in last 3 years.
  • Professional sports persons, entertainers, unemployed, itinerant and fairground workers excluded.
  • Customer validation required to prove identity and home address details. Must see original copy of driving

licence and one other: Passport, utility bill or similar.

 

  1. Insurance Cover Details and Exclusions
  • Comprehensive cover.
  • It is the dealership’s responsibility to ensure that all drivers meet the terms and conditions of insurance and

all are eligible to drive the vehicle. GB driver eligibility must be checked online or by calling DVLA.

  • No cash hires. No letter box or out of hours returns.
  • Maximum 7 seat passenger vehicles accepted.
  • Additional drivers are permitted subject to being named and meeting the Driver Acceptance Criteria.
  • The consequential damage of filling the vehicle with the incorrect fuel is covered.
  • No Foreign use other than Eire. Customers’ personal effects, towing, track or off road use are excluded. Taxi

hire, hire and reward and use for courier business purposes are not covered.

  • LCV is limited to 3.5t GVWR.
  • Vehicle loaned subject to a credit hire agreement cannot be insured under this policy.

 

  1. Insurance Premium Rates and Excess Values
  • Car value less than £20,000: £5.28 per loan per day £500 excess
  • Car value £20,001 to £35,000: £6.34 per loan per day £500 excess
  • LCV value less than £35,000: £6.34 per loan per day £500 excess

 

Any taxed vehicle which is the property of the dealership or in their custody and control can be insured. All

vehicle values are SIV, exclude VAT, margin and include any write-downs. All rates include IPT at 12%.
