AdBlue is a non-toxic, easy-to-use mixture of urea and water which converts up to 85% of the harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from the exhausts
of diesel engines into harmless water vapour and nitrogen. Your Nissan dealer can top up your AdBlue as part of your regular maintenance programme,
but it’s easy to do it yourself. Read on to learn more about AdBlue, your Nissan and how they work together for a cleaner journey, every trip.
WITH YOUR DEALER:
The easiest way to refill your AdBlue is to talk to your Nissan authorised dealer, either as part of your normal maintenance programme or as a separate visit. If your car shows a warning that it is low on AdBlue you should make an appointment immediately.
BY YOURSELF:
It is also possible to refill AdBlue yourself. It is available widely at filling stations and automotive stores in packages of 1.5, 5 and 10 litres.
STEP 1 PARK YOUR CAR
Make sure your Nissan is safely parked on a level surface and turn off the engine.
STEP 2 READ INSTRUCTIONS
Check your vehicle handbook to see the location and capacity of your vehicle's AdBlue tank.
STEP 3 OPEN THE CAP
Open the cap & read the instructions on your AdBlue container carefully before pouring the contents of the container into your vehicle's AdBlue tank.
STEP 4 TOP UP
Insert the AdBlue bottle into the filler and tighten it fully. Push down on the bottle and begin to refill. Do this slowly so it doesn't spill. Do not remove the bottle until it is empty. Add necessary amount of AdBlue, continue until you add at least 4 litres of AdBlue.
STEP 5 CLOSE THE CAP
Close the AdBlue tank cap, tightening it until you hear a click. Check your engine starts correctly - it may take a few seconds longer than normal.
