    Batchelors Motor Group require a top-class sales consultant for our York branch. Batchelors is a respected family business and motor dealership based in Ripon and York. We represent two fantastic franchises, Suzuki and Mitsubishi. We would prefer you to have experience of either Suzuki or Mitsubishi, but this is not essential as in- house and manufacturer training will be provided.

    Job Purpose:

    To assist our customers in the purchase of new / used cars and associated products. Maximise our sale potential whilst ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and customer retention.


    Reports to: Sales Manager


    Hours: 8:30 – 6:30 Monday to Friday, Saturday 8:30 – 17:00 & Sunday 11:00 – 4:00pm

    Early finish at 6:00pm on a rota


    Day off in the week, One Sunday off every fortnight and off one full weekend in three.

    So, you work:

    Week 1. Monday to Friday off in the week and you work Saturday & Sunday

    Week 2. Monday to Friday, Saturday, day off in the week and Sunday off

    Week 3. Monday – Friday, full weekend off


    Salary: £17,000.00 + Commission.  a realistic OTE of £35,000.00 / year, uncapped.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Understand vehicle features, characteristics, etc. to maximise sales potential
    • Achieve vehicle sales targets whilst maximising profitability
    • Provide industry leading customer service
    • Recognise, process and follow-up sales prospects
    • Seek to generate new business.
    • Build and maintain great relationships with existing and new customers to maximise future sales
    • Closing sales by overcoming objections, negotiation, etc.
    • Sell additional dealership services to increase continued custom
    • Maintain accurate records of customer requirements, completing sales contracts and other sales administration
    • Work closely in accordance with Finance and General Insurance regulations.
    • Raise the profile of the dealership and enhancing the reputation of the business

    Key Competencies:

    • A full UK driving licence
    • Flexible to working patterns
    • Ability to use IPad and Desktop PC
    • Target driven
    • Excellent listening and communication skills
    • Team player
    • Exceptional Time keeping

    Experience / Requirements:

    You will have worked within a similar sales based role. Preferably with Automotive experience. Willing to attend manufacture training. Competent at using ICT, Maths & English.
